As part of its commitment to support aspiring entrepreneurs in the region, Sheraa recently hosted the One Young World MENA Caucus at the Sheraa Hub in American University of Sharjah, bringing together delegates to debate, formulate and share innovative solutions for the pressing issues facing the region. One Young World (OYW) is a global platform founded in 2009 that gathers the brightest young leaders from around the world, empowering them to make lasting connections to create positive change.
Sheraa in partnership with One Young World convened individuals between 18 to 30 years old at a day-long event, where aspiring leaders and entrepreneurs connected face-to-face and explored opportunities for collaborations while gaining insights into a range of emerging issues such as poverty alleviation, clean energy and the future of the job market.
Najla Al-Midfa, General Manager of Sheraa commented, “Our strategic partnership with the One Young World program has opened doors to broader opportunities and learning experiences for our entrepreneurs while strengthening our efforts in empowering such young innovators. Such platforms give the youth of the region a great opportunity to drive societal change and economic growth. We will continue to look at such partnerships to support our youth and harness their creativity and passion to come up with innovative ideas and solutions.”
Kate Robertson, Co-Founder, One Young World said: We are proud to have partnered with Sheraa for our first MENA Caucus of 2017, located in one of the most important regions in the world. Having personally attended the first MENA Caucus in 2015, I know the calibre of young leaders in the region building sustainable growth, innovation and peace is incredibly high. AU Sharjah and Sheraa are at the heart of dynamic progress in the Middle East, and we are honoured to combine efforts to achieve the same purpose: empower young leaders to solve the world’s most critical challenges.”

Focused on developing the most promising young leaders, the conference showcased panels and engaging sessions with local speakers, innovators and problem-solvers followed by a workshop held by OYW Ambassadors, while inspiring a generation of future entrepreneurs trying to make their mark in the vibrant entrepreneurship scene.
