Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired, on Tuesday, the meeting of the SEC, in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, held in the Sharjah Ruler’s Office.
The council discussed several topics related to government work, supporting investors in the emirate, and taking decisions to enhance joint work between government bodies.
The council congratulated Khaled Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Marine Sports Club, on gaining membership in the International Federations for Marine Sports, wishing him a thriving success.
To attract potential investing companies, provide them with facilities, and organise the process of issuing licenses, the council reviewed the report on the economic situation of tourism and air freight licensing activities and the amended requirements in the sector. It also reviewed statistics and comparisons regarding approvals for issuing licenses between 2019 – 2023, demonstrating the sector’s emirate growth and the interest of companies that practice the activities.
The council also discussed legislation regulating maritime sports, in terms of variations and coordination with the competent authorities, aiming to preserve marine life and reduce accidents.
