Al Suyoh parks finalized with top-notch amenities

In accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, efforts are being made to ensure the highest level of comfort for both citizens and residents. There is a strong emphasis on enhancing various areas of the emirate and implementing significant development projects aimed at benefiting everyone living in the region, with particular attention to those in the surrounding neighborhoods.

The Sharjah Department of Public Works has successfully completed Al Suyoh Park, a family-friendly destination located in Al Riqaibah, which spans an impressive 123,000 square meters. This park sets a benchmark for modern recreational spaces to come, featuring various structures designed for social and cultural gatherings. Careful consideration was given to the park’s design, ensuring it blends seamlessly with the natural landscape while preserving the existing ghaf trees in the area.

Visitors entering the park will encounter a central forum square that leads to a cultural forum building of 825 square meters. This facility houses a library, a music room, an arts room, restrooms, and a prayer room. In addition, there is a social forum building that includes a café, a fitness center, restrooms, and another prayer room. Both venues have been furnished with the latest decor, creating welcoming spaces for community interaction.

The park features a lively square illuminated with lights, a charming petting farm, and a variety of games, adventure activities, and entertainment options. Among its attractions is an interactive fountain and a central water resource, along with multiple recreational areas, including a football field, a basketball court, a padel court, and three expansive play zones for children, over a thousand square meters in size. These areas are equipped with shaded umbrellas featuring cooling fans, alongside a designated fitness area.

Unique elements of the park include a lagoon over 3,000 square meters, complete with a decorative bridge and appealing installations around it, all overlooking an outdoor theater designed for events, boasting a capacity of 300 people within a space of more than 1,000 square meters.

The department also managed all IT installations, hill formations, garden gate constructions, electrical and gas works, fire-fighting systems, irrigation systems, and the installation of identification panels for the main entrance and surveillance cameras.

The park features a rubber jogging track that encircles the area, alongside a dedicated bicycle track.

In line with this initiative, the department has successfully completed the construction of Al Suyoh Park for Women in Al Riqaibah 4, which is part of Sharjah’s development plan aimed at establishing a global network of age-friendly and child-friendly cities.

Spanning an impressive 151,000 square meters, the park boasts a 1,360-meter long running track that is 3 meters wide, ensuring ample space for joggers. To enhance privacy for women, decorative fences reaching 7 meters in height have been installed.

Upon entering the park, visitors will find a welcoming forum square and an arts platform, which houses a cultural forum building covering 825 square meters. This facility includes a library, a music room, an arts room, bathrooms, and a prayer area. Additionally, a social forum building features a café and a fitness hall equipped with a jacuzzi pool, sauna room, and necessary facilities, all furnished with modern decor and furnishings.

Al Suyoh Park also offers a padel court, a multi-purpose court, three children’s play areas, and a designated barbecue zone.

Visitors can enjoy three fountains, two of which are interactive, along with an event theater that overlooks a serene lagoon.

The parks maintain lush green areas while respecting the native desert landscape, enhancing the natural beauty of the surroundings. This includes 30 trees in Al Suyoh General Park and 47 trees in Al Suyoh Park for Women, making the area a perfect spot for family outings and barbecues.

These parks will provide local residents with excellent options for jogging and cycling, promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle. These efforts are part of a broader plan designed by the department to establish sports tracks across the emirate, aimed at achieving several strategic objectives, including improving sports facilities for residents and fostering a sense of community within the city. Furthermore, they support the department’s commitment to offering engaging options that encourage Sharjah residents to pursue their interests. The Sharjah Public Works Department collaborates closely with relevant government agencies to implement, design, and assess various projects in residential neighborhoods, including the creation of new parks. These initiatives are integral to the department’s development plans and align with its strategic vision to enhance vital recreational spaces for the community.
