Sultan launches Dhs2.7b projects for youth

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, launched several projects during the first quarter of this year 2019, including 3 development projects in Sharjah, at a total cost of Dhs2.7 billion.

Those projects are being implemented through a strategic partnership between the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority ( Shurooq) and Eagle Hills.

Shurooq and Eagle Hills have disclosed the establishment of a new company named “Eagle Hills Sharjah Development” to undertake the development of the aforementioned three projects, which are scheduled projects to be completed between 2019 and 2020.

His Highness also launched during a ceremony held at the Al-Badi Al-Amir Palace, “Sheikh Sultan Award for Youth Energies”, which is the first of its kind in the region. It aims to foster talents and skills, and to empower young people in the country by taking on a challenge of various levels, and multidisciplinary; includes volunteering, adventure, skill and talent.

His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, delivered a speech during the launching ceremony of the award, saying, “We are pleased to welcome all of you today, to launch a new important award, through which we support our dear sons and daughters, not only in the Emirate of Sharjah, but also nationwide, to make creative efforts to advance progress and innovation in all areas. ”

Separately, His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, met recently, at his Literary Council at Dr Sultan Al Qasimi Centre for Gulf Studies (Dara), members of the scientific committee of the ALECSO-Sharjah Award for Language and Lexical Studies, award guests from managers and supervisors of language academies in the Arab world.

Sheikh Sultan briefed them on Dara and its Literary Council, which was set up at the aim of addressing cultural, literary, historical, Arab and Islamic issues and topics.

Sheikh Sultan then talked about the emergence and origin of Dara, consistently and chronologically tracing its foundation. He supported his talk with Quranic texts as he believes the Noble Quran is the greatest book we can invoke in this research.

His Highness also clarified the sites of the most important metropolitan areas inhabited by people in the Arabian Peninsula, and in the north, such as Dumah Al Jandal, Midian, Eilat, Iram, Madina, Mesopotamia (Iraq), Al Tur, and Petra in Jordan.

He also mentioned the most prominent tribes inhabited those areas such as the Nabateans, the Surrealists, the Phoenicians, and the Arameans, having their own dialect which they considered the sources of their strength, and when they migrated to Makka, their dialects were united into the Quraish language, indicating that they were close in essence and origin.

His Highness reviewed, before the attendees, a table with the various forms of the Musnad letter, including Al Jazm and Al Nabat, to confirm the extent of the rapprochement between them, pointing to the reference of each letter and the way it is drawn.

Sheikh Sultan concluded his speech by urging the attendees to the need to return to the history of Homerite, being the incubator and origin of dialects so that we can rapproach the utterances and reach a definitive truth of the history of the emergence of the Arabic language and its origin.

The guests extended their sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his efforts in serving the language of the Qur’an and those responsible for it.

The meeting was attended by Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture, Mohammed Hasan Khalaf, Director General of Sharjah Media Corporation, and Dr. Mohammed Safi Mostaganemi, Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah.
