Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is gearing up for its 9th participation at the ITB Berlin 2016, the world’s leading travel trade show, taking place from March 9-13 in Berlin, Germany. There it will exhibit the Mleiha Archaeological and Environmental Project, Al Noor Island, Heart of Sharjah and more of its existing projects to promote Sharjah’s tourism as one the most diverse and environmentally sustainable industry in the region.
Shurooq is scheduled to meet global partners and investors at ITB Berlin and map out its investment plans and ventures to boost Sharjah’s environmental, leisure and business tourism sectors, as well as to develop new hospitality projects in the emirate.
Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Chief Operating Officer of Shurooq, said, “This year at ITB Berlin, we will focus our attention on promoting Shurooq’s latest projects such as the Mleiha Archaeological and Environmental tourism project, to promote Sharjah as a leading tourist destination for history and archaeology enthusiasts and Al Noor Island, which will showcase Sharjah as a destination for art, culture, nature and architecture. Our objective is to promote Sharjah as one of the most diverse and sustainable tourism sectors in the MENA region by highlighting all our developments and launches for various leisure, artistic, cultural, business, archaeological and Eco-tourism projects.”
Shurooq’s Mleiha project, launched in January 2016 is an environmentally sustainable project that has placed Sharjah as one of the world’s most significant archaeological destinations.
Al Qaseer added, “Shurooq’s participation at ITB Berlin 2016 is a part of our mission to promote Sharjah as a leading destination for investment in the region and the world. ITB Berlin has grown to be one of the world’s most strategic and central platforms for the travel and tourism industry. It allows business people in the industry to meet and network with leaders and key decision makers in the industry and discuss with them investment opportunities in Sharjah and also encourage them to invest in the emirate.
