New US$20m nylon webbing factory opens in Sharjah

UK-based Bash-P International, the flagship lifting equipment manufacturing company of the Safety & Services Group, has opened a US$20 million (AED 73m) nylon ‘lifting webbing’ manufacturing unit in Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone). The unit is the first dedicated lifting webbing factory in the Middle East and North Africa.

The new factory will produce nylon/polyester webbing material ranging from 25mm to 300mm wide to meet the group’s in-house requirements and the demand of the region’s construction, heavy industry and logistics sectors. Safety Services Group is the largest stockist, supplier and manufacturer of lifting equipment within the Middle East.

Bash-P manufactures a wide range of products utilising foundries and quality eco-compliant facilities worldwide. According to the company, products manufactured in the SAIF Zone facility will be produced according to international and British standards with a safety factor exceeding 7:1.

The US$210 million (AED 771m) net-worth Safety Services Group is planning a major expansion across Middle East and Asia during the next two years and aims to become a global market leader for quality approved products, complete with professional support services catering to the construction, industrial, marine, and energy sectors.

The Safety Services Group also plans to have open a Grade-80 chain manufacturing unit, similar to the facility that it commissioned in Cochin, India, early this year.

SAIF Zone houses 6,800 companies from across 149 nations, welcoming foreign investment from more than 500 industries.
